D. David Bales, JD, CSA, ChFEBC, is a graduate of Georgia Southwestern State University and John Marshall Law School.  David began his professional career as a public school teacher and football coach at Americus High, Forsyth County High, and Buford High School.  David left the education profession in 1984 when he accepted a position with Cotton States Insurance Company as a General Agent.  After graduating from Law School in 1997, David sold his Cotton States Agency and started the financial planning firm,  David Bales & Associates.  Tim Eckel joined the firm as a partner in January, 2000, and the name was changed to Bales & Eckel Financial Group.

David conducts financial seminars for federal employees,educators, public utility companies, and seasoned citizens on pension maximization, estate planning, charitable giving, and tax strategies to secure incomes and preserve assets.   He strongly believes  that a properly designed retirement plan can provide an array of living benefits that leads to a more fulfilling and enjoyable retirement.

David is a member of the First Redeemer Church, Rotary Club, National Association of Life Underwriters, and the Chamber of Commerce.  David enjoys golf, hiking, gardening, college football games, and traveling.  He resides in Cumming, Georgia with his wife, Debora, and their children.
